About

Michael Howe

Michael Howe is a fifth-generation family farmer from Casselton.

Working alongside his father Jim as the managing partner of Howe Seed Farms, Michael has navigated the challenges of ups and downs in the agriculture economy by bringing a conservative approach to business.

Michael will carry those same conservative values to the Secretary of State’s office.

In 2016 he ran for the legislature to fight for farmers, ranchers, small businesses, and families because he believes our true strength comes from our people, not from the government. Today, Michael represents District 22, a largely rural area of Cass County, in the North Dakota House of Representatives.

In the legislature, Michael has fought to protect North Dakotans from government overreach and cut unnecessary regulations. In 2021 Howe stood up for small businesses and spearheaded legislation to safeguard businesses from frivolous lawsuits related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As a business owner, Michael’s committed to cutting red tape to ensure that North Dakota is the easiest place to start and grow a business.

Michael ran for Secretary of State to protect the security of our elections, open the door to every new business, and lead the way in ensuring our natural resources leave a legacy for our children and our grandchildren.
