George Roughead

For State Senate

Bio: I am proud to call North Dakota home for over 30 years and wouldn’t have it any other way. I am a UND grad with a Composite Social Studies degree in Education, and currently teach at Capstone Classical Academy, where 15 years of coaching turned a love for sports into a passion for education. When not grading papers, you’ll find me playing video games, getting lost in a good book, and hiking trails.

I am happily married to my wife, Jordan. She is in a PhD program for Occupational Therapy at NDSU and currently works at Valley Christian Counseling and Wellness, making a real difference in our community. Her dedication inspires me every day, and together, we’re committed to improving the health and future of our community.

Why I am running: Being an educator for over 15 years, I have seen how important a strong education is for the future of our children. I have also watched as more and more kids struggle with anxiety, depression, & addictive behaviors. These issues moved me to run for office. Our children’s futures are on the line and I am committed to making the improvements needed to protect them.
