Rep. Emily O’Brien
For State Representative
I have been a proud resident of Grand Forks for almost 15 years, and I graduated from the University of North Dakota with a degree in Entrepreneurship. I grew up in Lakeville, MN, where my family taught me the values of hard work, grit, and integrity. Those lessons proved invaluable as I always do my best to finish the job and ‘leave it better than I found it.’
In 2016, I was elected to represent District 42, part of the Grand Forks community, in the Legislature. Since then, I have been a bipartisan advocate for continuing to work toward solutions rather than seeking only party endorsements.
Professionally, I serve as the Chief Operating Officer for the Bioscience Association of North Dakota. I have always had an itch for creating an entrepreneurial culture! I will always be passionate about fostering economic opportunities, nurturing growth, and championing the expansion of the boundaries of opportunities in North Dakota.
My most rewarding job is being a mother. As I’ve gotten older, I have developed a different perspective on the importance of family. Family is everything to me, and I am committed to ensuring our children have the best opportunities for success. The future of our communities lies in their hands.
