NDGOP Credits Republican Leadership with Northern Border Reopening

BISMARCK – Today, Perrie Schafer, Chairman of the North Dakota Republican Party (“NDGOP”) applauded North Dakota’s Republican leadership for successfully pushing the Biden Administration to reopen the Northern Border to vaccinated Canadian travelers next month:

“I want to thank Governor Burgum, Senators Cramer and Hoeven, and Congressman Kelly Armstrong for their diligent work in pushing President Biden to reopen the Northern Border. For months, North Dakotans were hurt economically while Canada benefitted from our tourism under yet another haphazard, ill-conceived plan from the Biden Administration. There are still too many roadblocks and delays, but we are finally moving in the right direction, and we are grateful for our leaders’ persistence,” said Schafer.

He continued: “We once again, however, join them in calling upon the Administration to address the massive humanitarian and national security crisis developing as a result of Biden’s refusal to enforce our immigration laws. We need to secure our Southern Border now.”
