About

Sheri Haugen-Hoffart

Sheri is a proud native of Rugby, North Dakota. After graduating from the University of North Dakota, she began her career of service in the non-profit industry. Most recently, Sheri served as Chair of the Board for Capital Electric, a cooperative providing reliable electricity to Burleigh and southern Sheridan counties.

Appointed to the Public Service Commission by Governor Doug Burgum, Sheri is leading the fight to protect consumers.

As the first female board chair in history for both Capital Electric Co-Op and Central Power Co-Op, Sheri led efforts to deliver outstanding customer service and streamline operations. As one of three Public Service Commissioners, Sheri remains committed to ensuring that utility providers are regulated fairly while fighting to protect consumers and taxpayers.

North Dakota’s Public Service Commission plays an important role overseeing many of the critical services we rely on every day from energy and electricity to communications equipment and railroads. Sheri will fight to protect the security of our electric grid and reliability of our supply chain.

Sheri lives in Bismarck with her husband Richard. Together they enjoy traveling, spending time on the lake, and volunteering in the community.
