Thomas Beadle

In 2020, Thomas Beadle was elected to be North Dakota’s 34th State Treasurer. Thomas brings a background in real estate brokerage, business development, and a decade of service in the North Dakota House of Representatives with him into this role.

As Treasurer, Thomas is focused on protecting taxpayer dollars and bringing accountability and transparency to the Treasurer’s office. He strives to make sure that your tax dollars flowing through state government are being handled efficiently and we are being good stewards of your money.

The Treasurer’s office handles the day-to-day cash management for the State of North Dakota, as well as managing the accounting and reconciliation, tax collections and distributions to political subdivisions, investing the state funds, and promoting financial literacy for our citizens.

As mandated by statute, the State Treasurer serves as a member of the North Dakota State Investment Board, the Teachers Fund for Retirement Board (TFFR), State Canvassing Board, State Board of Tax Equalization, State Historical Board, and the North Dakota Board of University and School Lands. Additionally, the Treasurer serves as the custodian of the Veterans Postwar Trust Fund.

Throughout Thomas’s career in public office he has maintained a focus on promoting transparency and accountability in state government, promoting economic development and investing in education. As a legislator, Thomas was awarded a fellowship with the Bowhay Institute of Legislative Leadership Development by the Council of State Governments and has been recognized as a Champion by the North Dakota Chamber of Commerce, named a Golden Apple Award winner by the ND Council of Educational Leaders, and awarded the Communicator of the Year award and the Alumni of the Year award by the North Dakota Speech and Debate Association.

Thomas and wife Shana live in Bismarck with their dog, Eisenhower.
