This year, Governor Burgum dressed up as a Department of Transportation employee to promote the state’s DOT system. He continued the long-standing tradition of giving families candy. Children also learned about the different equipment used to work on roadways throughout the state.

North Dakota joins states’ lawsuit against Biden vaccine mandate

North Dakota is joining a multi-state lawsuit against the Biden administration’s plan to impose a vaccine mandate on federal contractors and federal employees. In a statement released yesterday, state Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem reiterated that the States’ Complaint argues that the President’s executive order runs counter to federal law and is unconstitutional.

Senate Majority Leader Rich Wardner, R-Dickinson, and House Majority Leader Chet Pollert, R-Carrington, thanked Burgum at a joint press conference on Friday for the added time and flexibility that the special session will allow, and touted common ground with the Republican governor on the federal coronavirus relief plan.
