Candidate Spotlight – Thomas Beadle, Candidate for State Treasurer

I am honored to be our Party’s nominee for North Dakota State Treasurer. Kelly Schmidt has served our state very well over the last 16 years and leaves big shoes to fill. In announcing her retirement from public office in December of last year, she created the opportunity for me to enter this race and use my background and skillset to serve our state in a new and more impactful way. In addition to my career as a real estate broker and as the Business Development Manager for a communications firm, I am a board member for the North Dakota Autism Center in West Fargo since 2017 and I have had the privilege to serve our State in the House of Representatives representing District 27 in Fargo since 2010. As a legislator I have worked tirelessly to bring new technology to our education system, expand efforts for transparency, manage the state budget and work to diversify our economy.

I look forward to bringing my business background and legislative experience to the table to work for you in Bismarck.

The Treasurer’s office touches every single dollar of taxpayer money that flows through the state. The Treasurer serves on numerous boards that have direct and immediate impacts on our education system, infrastructure funding, energy development and funding for our veterans. As Treasurer I am committed to protecting your tax dollars by promoting transparency for how the state is spending your money and by giving you the tools you need to hold our state agencies accountable. I will invest in technology to ensure we are operating as efficiently and effectively as possible, and I will provide good stewardship over our taxpayer’s money.

I am humbled to have the opportunity to serve our state in this way. North Dakota has provided me and my family with many blessings. After my father passed away when I was 10, my mother and I moved back to North Dakota to be closer to family where my grandparents, Earl and Jan Strinden, and my numerous aunts and uncles helped us recover. It is here that I developed a love and fondness for pheasant hunting, walleye fishing and our North Dakota way of life. It is in North Dakota that I met my high school sweetheart, now wife, Shana, and where we set up our roots and started building our careers.

I am very grateful for everything that North Dakota has done for me, and I look forward to serving our great state as your next Treasurer!
